|Education, Support & Promotion of Excellence in Weaving for this Generation and the Next|
The WHI Fiber Arts Library and the ABK Weaving Center are located on the lower level of Gaenslen School. Here you will find an extensive collection of books and magazines on weaving and related arts as well as weaving samples, bulletins from other guilds, and instructional audio-visual materials in both video and DVD formats. All can be checked out for one month at regular WHI meetings to WHI members. Items may be renewed for one additional month unless a specific request for that item has been made by another member. Renewals can be done by phone or email if someone is unable to attend the meeting. Phone and email contacts for the current chairpersons are in the WHI Directory. If a member cannot return materials at the monthly meetings items can also be mailed back to the attention of the library chairpersons at the address below. Fines for overdue materials are $3.00/month per item. WHI's policy is to charge the borrower replacement cost for any lost or severely damaged item that has a price indicated on the checkout card. The charge for all other items is $10. Many of the library materials are no longer in print or have been donated after a long life of service to the owner. The $10 charge is a token amount that helps the library begin to locate a suitable replacement for the item. We ask our members to care for these materials and to return them promptly so as many members as possible have access.
Librarians are currently Cathay Clausen, Circulation and Sue Knorr, Cataloging.
